The cornea is measured with an optical or ultrasound diagnostic method. Pachymetry is a critical measurement in laser eye surgery, particularly in LASIK where excessive thinning is more likely to occur. It is even more important - though much more difficult to measure properly - in determining suitability for an enhancement.
