Corrective lenses (glasses or contacts) with two or more different lens powers to help one focus both near and far.

Multi-focal lenses are typically prescribed to people who already wear glasses and then develop presbyopia. The top part of the lens will be the correct lens power to correct one's distance vision while the bottom part will be the correct lens power to correct one's reading vision. The lens transition may be abrupt (bifocals, trifocals) or smooth (progressives/varifocals).
