Brimonidine

IN BRIEF

Ocular antihypertensive eyedrop which is sometimes used in healthy eyes to temporarily constrict the pupils.

DISCUSSION

Many laser eye surgery patients with night vision disturbance can reduce their symptoms temporarily through using a drug to constrict the pupils. Brimonidine is the most popular drug used for this purpose. Medical studies indicate however that frequent use may reduce its effectiveness.
