Artemis, Artemis II
(VHF digital ultrasound)

IN BRIEF

Unique diagnostic device which can analyse all the layers of the cornea in great detail.

DISCUSSION

Artemis is a very high frequency (VHF) digital ophthalmic ultrasound device which (among other things) can map the characteristics of the layers of the cornea in greater detail than any other diagnostic tool available today.

For laser eye surgery patients with complications and/or contemplating further surgical treatment, and particularly in the case of LASIK patients, Artemis can provide detailed information which may help evaluate the suitability of further treatment or indicate what type of treatment is most suitable. For example, it will determine the thickness of the LASIK flap and stroma at all points to help determine the safety of re-treating, and can pinpoint irregularities in the epithelium, flap or stroma.
