Photoablation procedure

IN BRIEF

Refractive surgeries where tissue from the cornea is ablated with an excimer laser.

DISCUSSION

All laser eye surgeries are photoablation procedures. The point of each procedure, despite differences in preliminaries or techniques, is to reshape the corneal stroma by vaporising some of it with a laser.
